Classic black n white!

A traditional classic black dress, with just a hint of white. This beauty is instantly classy,  expensive looking, and sophisticated. Great buy from Ross store for $29.99, available in more sizes! Just for fun, I wore it with gladiator sandals: still professional with a zest of personality 😜✌🏾

Outfit of the day!

Flow and structure all in one: that’s the description of my top today. I love the coral color, one of my fav, and the high low cut of the top. It works on most body types and the flair is perfect for concealing midsection problem areas😉 I paired the top with simple black pants. Both these items were great finds from a surplus store, and entire outfit is under $20 😜✌🏾

Dare to mix it if you feel like it!

I bet most people don’t look at blue and orange and go yes let me put those two colors together in the same outfit!…well I do. The thing about it is that when you’re  trying to put two strong colors together, you need a bridge. My bridge is the shirt. The flower design has blues, reds, and yellows. The best part is that I’m wearing the shirt backwards 😉 and it took the look to a different level and style! Don’t be afraid to change it up!

And did you see the shoes? I love them! So fricking comfortable and boho chic! Only $11 on wish.com. The blue flower design on the shoes also go with the  shirt. Looking at the whole look from shoes to jacket, the blue pants allows the bright orange of the shoes to shine! The shirt ties well with the pants because of the blue flowers, and the other bright colors on the shirt go well with the orange jacket. Overrall, the shirt is the key piece that bridges the gap between two harsh colors to juxtapose. That’s how you put blue and orange together without looking crazy!

You can have tones of fun doing the same with the colors you feel like using. Don’t be afraid to stand out and be happy inside out.
The ladies at the nail shop liked my look so much  that one wanted us to take these pics! So cool! One of the best compliments i got today from a co-worker was that my clothes are always unique, different,  and so beautiful!  People keep asking me where I get my clothes and if I can refer them to good shopping joints. If I had my way, I will do this as a full time career, but until then, keep checking out my personal tips… Who knows I might just blow out into the next big Thing!😉✌

Happy style has no age!

Hum…it’s been a minute since I shared a look here but this is a fun one. It’s totally inspired by the girl in the hood that turned heads  in the mid 90s early 2000s rap videos! She’s ghetto fabulous!  So, I was having fun in south padre island with my hubby and baby for my 2nd year wedding anniversary and when i put this look together, it felt like I was back in time…fun Times! Whether you’re over 30 or not, mommy or not, you can still wear what makes you happy!  At the right time and place of course, but you don’t have to deny yourself because you are afraid of straying out of society’s expectations! 😉✌💪

My Little Angel’s Master Chef!

Oh life with a baby! It teaches you so much about yourself. One thing we did with my little angel since he could eat solids is prepare all his meals. It’s about a 2hr commitment a week and you got food for the entire week. We never bought baby food except to take with us on a trip to Jamaica, and the baby spit it out with a disgusted face, and my husband and I realized we were awesome baby food chefs 😆

My Sunday afternoons, besides going through the end of the weekend blues, can be summarized in cleaning, grocery shopping,  and making baby food. Last night I made 2 batches: lentils with spinach and beef, and potato stew with chicken wings. It’s baby food but trust me you’ll like too. A trip to the grocery store, 2hrs of  your life, and you end up with yummy nutritious food for your little one, all on a dime! Hey did I mention you can freeze it and keep it for over a week? Yes you can 😉✌

How to get several styles out of 1 weave!

The one thing inconsistent about me, is my hair style! That’s what I tell people when they ask why I change hair styles often. If you are anything like me, you get bored of the same hair style after a while. I change mine more frequently than the average person, but you get the feeling.  Now I’m gonna share with you how to get different hair styles out of the same weave:

1. Get a good sew-in that can last over a month: if you gonna pay $$$ for it, why not make it last and why not  make it fun? When i don’t do it myself, I have a stylist who is pretty good at braiding  medium size solid braids before  sewing  in the weave. I also ask her to fold the the hair and not to cut it in between tracks to avoid shedding.

2. Choose a beginning style that is versatile.  If you start with a short  Bob, you don’t have much room for change later. I started with an uncut side bang.

3. Cut and style as you go: I’m particular about my hair and I personally do a better job at cutting it myself!  Therefore, I trimmed the initial side bang myself,  then 3 weeks later  when I got bored of this style, I cut it into front bangs. This gave me a brand new look! 2 weeks later,  I decided a layered Bob will be my new look, and after 20 minutes in front of mirror with my razor,  comb, and scissors,  I have a Bob! 3 different looks so far out of the same weave. That’s how you get different hair styles  on a dime!

My weave cost me $120 with virgin Remi hair that cost me $24. I cut the different styles myself so no cost there. I don’t consider myself an expert in hair cutting to give you advice, but you can check YouTube videos. Likes, shares, and comments are welcome 😉✌

12 months later…my little angel is so adorable!

We just celebrated my little angel’s first birthday on February 23rd and had a small party on Saturday February 25th. I never thought you can love someone that much! The cheesy saying “I love you so much it hurts” is so true for what I feel for my little angel.  I will protect him with my life in a heart but! Haaaa! The whole week I’ve been revisiting the pictures of him from when he was just a few months old and I can’t believe how fast he’s grown.  I have tears in my eyes looking at the early pictures, and it seems that just last week I were released from the hospital with a little baby, exhausted , scared, and excited for the future. It has been an amazing journey so far. Thinking about how far we’ve came, I was inspired to make a collage  of my little angel’s pictures month to month from now to when he was born. The pictures start really clear but as he’s growing and moving I can’t no longer get a still picture. So I guess that’s the fun in videos.

As great as all this is, the pregnancy was not a walk in the park, but that’s a long story for another time…i’m happy and thankful to God for my little angel ❤ 😉✌

#RRW Romantic Retro Week: This Is Funcy (fun+fancy) Friday!

It’s Friday,  it’s friday, it’s Fri Fri Fri Fri Friday! 🎵🎶 Friday is usually the casual jeans day at work but not today! Not for me, it’s #RRW,  so I need fancy fun outfits to honor my theme! The first look is what I wore to work. It’s a simple stripped t-shirt with a high waisted pant that has a lacing details on each side of the hips right by the pockets.

This look is reminiscent of the 50s. Women was all about high waisted pants then: whether it’s wide bottoms or cigarette style, high waisted was in and is back in trend Yes!

My second look is this amazing dress I feel sexy, comfortable, and confident in! Love the sleeve details with the buttons and the half front belt. Love this dress!

I have enjoyed every moment  of my #RRW So far and the icing on the cake is that I inspired some people to find a way to wear what they really love. For these two Funcy looks, the pants and the dress were both purchased from vendors on Amazon.COM

Feel free to ask questions,  comment, and join the fun #RRW  😉✌

#RRW Romantic Retro Week: This is Thriving Thursday!

Yeah it’s Thursday!  For some reason I like Thusdays even though they can be challenging work days because things that need to be completed for week get slammed at you. Anyways, regardless of any challenge or chaos, I thrive…get it? Thriving Thursday!!! And my #RRW look is no different: strong feminine silhouette with emphasis on sleeves and like a good 40s 50s style, an accentuated waist! The 40s and 50s were about the feminine silhouette but also the jewelry. They were not afraid to accessorize whether it’s jewelry, hats, scarfs, or hair… they went for it, so did I as much as possible for a professional environment. Checkout for yourself:

This dress is simple in nature, cut loose overall but provides a belt to accentuate the waist…sexy😍 the special feature of this dress is the emphasized sleeves. In true 40s 50s style, an element needs to stand out. I completed my look with a bold red necklace, these amazing flats, a hair band, and put my weave in a bun. I got tones of compliments on the shoes, necklace, dress, and the whole look 🤗I’m in love with the simplicity and the power of this dress. Wearing it makes me feel like I can conquer anything while looking pretty! Hence the name Thriving Thursday!!! So where did I get this beauty? Amazon.com …yep! It’s a go to for me when I need unique vintage inspired styles! Feel free to join the fun or comment #RRW 😉✌
